PLATFORM 11+ is a new European network of 13 theatres from 12 countries, in connection with local cultural organisations, universities and schools.
The focus of the network is young teens, 11-15 years old. For people of this age there are few cultural offerings across Europe, despite an engagement with art at this point in life being invaluable for the formation of values, personality and worldview. PLATFORM 11+ strives to fill this gap with a long-lasting effect and create maximal synergies between the partners.
After four years’ work, PLATFORM 11+ wants to present a many-layered (self-)portrait of a young European generation, whose presence at the beginning of the 21st century is reflected in more than 30 new plays, 50 interdisciplinary co-productions and theatre events, 40 pieces of art and new media and in a European database with theatre plays for the target group.
The leading organisation of that artistic network is Brageteatret in Drammen/Norway, which collaborates with the initiator of the project, Dirk Neldner/Germany.
In cooperation with ATINA Argentina, PLATFORM 11+ will also continue in several countries of South America. PLATFORM 11+ is supported by the European Commission (Program Culture 2007-2013). Please visit us on: www.platform11plus.eu

The highlight of the Annual Encounter 2010 in Palmela Portugal was our midsummer theatre´s night under the olive trees of Teatro O Bando on 26th June. On 13 magical field stages approximately 500 guests, among them Aikaterini Xethali from the European Comission, could see our partner theatres performing the national plays that have been produced in the last 9 months for Platform11+. It was a magical night lighted by the full moon. In the finale our companies sang songs about him and a kids…

On Thursday 24 June 2010 our next Annual Encounter has started here in Palmela, Portugal with the presentations of all the national productions. Each European theatre showed a 15-minute-sequence of the plays that they have produced in the last 9 months.
